Thank you so much for this video! I showed it to my kids and now may have a group who wants to enter the contest. Even if we don’t make the deadline, we might be doing something along those lines for Science class when we do machines.
When I tutored in college, we used to take field trips to the Ithaca Science Center, which had a set of musical stairs. I’m not surprised that the percentage of people choosing the stairs over the escalator increased (although I am a bit surprised by the size of the increase). I can’t help but wonder how the percentages would change 1 month later, 3 months later, 6 months later, 1 year later, etc.

Do you mean after the luster of “the new” faded?
Yes, the luster faded after about five minutes of the children “experimenting” with the steps. I am quite confident that the luster would fade in this case as well. I am curious about the extent to which it would fade though.
